The Miami Herald CEO Roundtable continues with a new group of participants selected from among South Florida’s top business leaders.
For the next six months, the CEOs will give their views on important civic and economic issues of the day. We’ll also ask them to share personal stories of their successes and setbacks and tips on how to succeed in the business world.
The CEOs come from a variety of companies, firms, municipal entitities and nonprofits — both big and small — across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The industries they represent include real estate, science, law, healthcare, technology, education and hospitality.

Steven N. Adkins is president and CEO of the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
Ron Antevy is president and CEO of e-Builder, a provider of cloud-based construction software.
Maria Arizmendi is a board-certified behavior analyst and president of Progressive Behavioral Science.
Noah Breakstone is founder and managing partner of BTI Partners, a Fort Lauderdale-based developer and real estate investment firm.
Bowman Brown is chairman of the Executive Committee and the Financial Services Practice Group at Shutts & Bowen law firm in Miami.
Patricia Elizee is managing
partner at Elizee Law Firm, P.A., an immigration and family law firm in Miami. She is president of the Haitian Lawyers Association and is on the board of the Miami Dade Hispanic Advisory Board.

Jeffrey Freimark is president and CEO of Miami Jewish Health Systems.

George Hanbury is president and CEO of Nova Southeastern University, the state’s largest private nonprofit institution of higher learning.
James Haj is president and CEO of The Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade County.
Bob Hohenstein is president and CEO of Miami-Dade County Youth Fair and Exposition.
Arden Karson is senior managing director for CBRE in South Florida, overseeing three offices and approximately 200 employees.
Juan Carlos Marchan is chief operating officer of Centurion Restaurant Group, creators of Bulla Gastrobar and Pisco y Nazca.
David Martin is president and co-founder of Terra, an integrated real estate development firm in South Florida.
Aabad Melwani is president of Rickenbacker Marina and managing principal of Marina PARC.
Kevin V. Michael is the co-founder and managing partner of Invizio, LLC, a South Florida IT services and consulting firm .
Avis Proctor is vice president of academic affairs and president of North Campus at Broward College.
Matthew “Matt” Rieger is president and CEO of Housing Trust Group, a developer of affordable housing, based in Coconut Grove. The company is the largest developer of affordable housing in Florida based on portfolio size, according to the Affordable Housing News.
Jackie Soffer is co-chairman and CEO for Turnberry Associates. Her leadership includes the company’s retail, hospitality and office divisions, notably Aventura Mall.
Ivannia Van Arman is executive director of Lincoln Road Business Improvement District.
