BTI sells waterfront plots in South Tampa for luxury townhome scheme
Fort Lauderdale-based BTI has closed on a land deal to WCI Communities to
build a townhome community in Westshore Marina District in Tampa. The
purchase will take place in two phases, beginning with a 2.35 acre site for $2.5
million to build luxury townhomes in a master planned community in South
Tampa. In the deal’s second phase, BTI will take over 9.5 acres of waterfront
land for $12 million in early 2018. WCI plans to build 35 luxury three story
townhomes on the 2.35 acre parcel.
Westshore Marina District in south Tampa is a mixed-use community designed to
transform the waterfront. BTI, a developer and real estate investment firm, is
selling some portions of the 52 acres to developers, which will build the
communities in phases. The scheme should eventually include up to 1,750
residential units, a 200-room hotel, retail, restaurants and office space, up to 240
 marina slips and a 1.5 mile-waterfront park.
“The fact that two seasoned developers have come on board to build within the
marina district speaks to the huge demand and excitement for a well-thought out
new mixed-use community along Tampa Bay’s waterfront,” said BTI Executive
VP of Development Beck Daniel in Tampa. “We want this project to be the
fulcrum of new development from which residents can easily explore all that
Tampa and St. Pete have to offer.”
