WCI buys 9.5 acres in Tampa’s Westshore marina district for $12.5m
WCI Communities, the high-end subsidiary of Miami, Fla.-based LennarCorp, has purchased 9.5 acres of waterfront property in Tampa, Fla.’s Westshore Marina District for $12.5.
With this purchase, which closed today, developer now owns 11.85 acres in the 52-acre Westshore Marina District master-planned community. WCI Communitiesplans to build more than 140 three- and four-story townhomes on the property, which will feature rooftop decks and private docks on a private harbor for residents.
BTI Partners has also sold off parcels of the Westshore Marina District to other developers, including Related Group and Bainbridge, who have all constructed rental apartment communities nearby.
“WCI’s acquisition highlights the fact that this area has become, in a short period of time, a hub of luxury waterfront living with the added benefits of a 1.5 mile-waterfront park, Tampa’s biggest marina and the upcoming development of waterfront restaurants and highly curated retail,” Beck Daniel of BTI Partners said in a release.
