The owner of Fontana Lakes, a proposed master-planned community situated between Florida’s Turnpike and Lake Tohopekaliga, is reactivating the long-dormant project. Master developer Jeff Fuqua of Amick Holdings has submitted applications to the South Florida Water Management District for mass grading permits.
The project holds an approved Concept Plan authorizing approximately 3,000 homes alongside 170,000 square feet of commercial and office space. The full development encompasses 1,752 single-family homes and 1,200 multifamily units, with a future marina phase at Friar’s Cove featuring 248 condominium units.
