Latin American investors postponed U.S. investment plans following the 2020 presidential election due to uncertainty surrounding Donald Trump’s refusal to acknowledge Joseph Biden’s victory. According to Consuelo Vilar, sales director for The Grove Resort & Water Park near Orlando: “They are waiting to see this conflict resolved to reaffirm that the U.S. has strong democracy and applies laws.”

Property sales at The Grove declined to roughly one-third their pre-election volume after the election dispute emerged. Investors from Mexico, Colombia, and Chile had previously sought furnished rental properties for dollar-denominated returns, but many postponed contracts pending political clarity.
